Time to give our new hall at Warrnambool College another go, hopefully this time with a higher attendance. Entry will be $20 with 80 seats available.
For our main competition we'll once again be using Call Of Duty 4, and due to popular demand the novelty comp will be Unreal Tournament.
We'll once more have vouchers from Super Billing to give away as well as some stuff from Thermaltake. Hopefully there will be more great stuff to come.

Yes it is original UT, and as with the previous LAN we'll have a CoD4 server running so you can get in a few levels before the comp.
its simple, i wasn't there for the last one, but if you run it hardcore, you rack points up a lot quicker.

Okie Dokie. Max lvl in cod is 55 first of all and the higher you does not mean you will have your health increased or dodge chance increased or crap like that. it just means that they have better weapons offered to them which you can still kick their arses with :D
and dont forget the perks, like the one that increases your armour, gives you 2 main weapons, longer sprint.
it can be an advantage, but to be honest it shouldn't matter what level you are, i'm sure there are plenty out there in the same boat or ones with a "hacked" account which aren't good enough on principal to deserve the extras earned from levelling.

the easiest and by far the fastest way to gain LVL's (legit)is in headquarters mode the u can make mass points even if u are the crappiest gamer in the world, we will have a server of it running im sure :)
Headquaters is definitely the way to go. I had to start from scratch after my stats reset. :( Back up to level 13 after only 3 hours playing according to xfire. I'd got to level 23 i think after about 13 hours the first time.
Being a higer level really doesn't give people a huge advantage in-game. I'm still beating lvl55 players most of the time. Skill wins, perks are just handy.
i agree, but it makes it easier when you have a p90 and a G3, so u can mess people up from point blank, or from the other side of the map

I personally would like to see a mass game of regicide that would be sweet, hell ill even have a crack at some DOTA if some one would care to explain it to me.

If people want to start reaching back into the days of old for games we'll need it. The early stuff didn't use TCP/IP.

I meant more from a point in that you could set up the entire DOS game, with everything ready to go, and pass around a single file. No need to setup drivers.
I'd say almost foolproof, but theres always one...
Off the top of my head I think Shadow Warrior, Duke 3D & Starcraft were IPX, not sure about Quake 2.
IPX is easy enough to install under XP, just wasn't sure how it went under Vista and whether there were any compatibility issues.

There will we one additional comp at LANotd this time but it is going to be a one on one challenge. at a random point during the night we are going to select a gamer of the hour and give them the opportunity to face off against LANotd Admin The_master. in one of several games.
the challenger may choose one of the following games:

Jedi academy or outcast.
should the lucky he or she win they will receive a bounty of goodies and one free entry to the following LANotd.

Thats funny cos its true, Noob toobers should die. lol all profiles still haven't even completed teh toob challenges on principle.
the only time i have ever used a toob is when i had not other choice ie: when i unlock a new gun and have no other attachment, then i realise after a bit its better to have 3 nades than a toob anyway.

Ok peeps how many would be interested in savage 2, if u are download it and make sure u have updated it before LANotd (v1.4.4 I think the version is) hoping to have a good game or 2 of this one.
AHhhh, thats what ya wanted me for lol. Yeah thats the latest. when ya download the game click on "Login" and then when it ask's for a account just click "No" then it will commence auto update or you can download the exe i think.
Savage 2 is great, despite the obviouse jiztastic graphics new units are availible and over LAN is free :D

For all those wanting to play savage 2 remember to download the latest update as there is no update patch as it were available. it seams to us that it is a live update only.
if u can prove other wise that would be fantastic post a link and we will download it and put it on the file server at the LAN.
Edit: There has been a flood of new registrations over the last couple of days this is fantastic lets see if we can to 50. and don't forget to confirm.
