LAN Of The Damned XVII

After a bit of running around for a new venue we're proud to announce another LAN Of The Damned event is being held March 15th & 16th, this time with a new player limit of 80. The event will be taking place at the Warrnambool College Hall on Grafton Road Warrnambool, a badly drawn map will be forthcoming. We haven't decided on comps yet or set an entry fee, but we'll let you know as soon as we do.

OK Guys being that we are operating this lan on such short notice we are gunna need all the help we can get filling the hall, so spread the word bring your parents hell bring your grand parents hell if the family pet can LAN bring it. (seriously no pets please)

also make any suggestions for games you would like to see played and we will see what we can do.

RTS games are fine C.O.H. Blows but thats my opinion, there are plenty of people that would be more than willing to play it with u it is after all a very popular game i reccomend if you are looking to ahve a game of it come see the admins and we will shout it out for ya.

I have no idea what games to play, COD4 obviously is a bit of a flavour at the moment, but I really enjoyed the UT comp last time so more of that please. What sort of 'silly' comp are you considering this time? Something other than Worms cause I suuuuucked so bad it. Maybe a driving/racing game? Something with crazy smashings and bashings? I assume that exists?

As far as the ole leechfest goes. Anybody after any particular types of files? I have a fair collection of crusty b-grade (or z-grade) horrors and tacky scifi's that The_Master doesn't have on his monster box. Anyone interested? I should be able to find time to load the portable harddrive up with a few of them for those who are. I also have some cartoon series (X-Men TAS, Spiderman TAS, Batman Beyond, that sorta thing).

We've set the price for the event, $20 for an 80 player LAN, can't go wrong there. There'll be the usual gigabit seats for an additional $5 as well.

The main comp is going to be CoD 4, though I doubt anyone is surprised ;) Second comp has yet to be decided.

Gigasoft IT Solutions have come through for us again donating another sweet VOIP box to the cause, may this be the beginning of many prizes for the upcoming LAN!

After the poor turnout for the last RTS comp we ran I don't think there's too much of a hurry to do it again.

Cmon guys and girls get those rego's in we still have 50 seats to fill, we would love to see the LAN fill up especially in the new venue. :D

Superbilling have once more been kind enough to give us 2 $50 vouchers to give away as prizes. Also McDonald's are continuing their fine tradition of filling our bellies with yummy cheap muffins and hotcakes :) And it looks like we're going to have lots of stuff to give away as gamer of the hour prizes thanks to Netspace.

Pizza Haven will once again be providing us with a hearty meal starting at $5 a large pizza, delivered for free!!! We'll also have the snack machine again for those who can't wait until dinner time.

Are there anymore suggestions for the novelty comp? So far we've had CoH and DoW suggested.

Drags meh its an 8th mile wooptiedoo nothing exciting to see there, a few nice cars perhaps but thats it. We are offering 20+ hours of entertainment for 20 bucks thats less than a dollar an hour how is that for value for money. by all means goto the drags then finish off with a stint at LANotd.
