View Full Version : Windows Vista tripple boot
I have windows XP, Vista, and 2003 Server all installed on my laptop so that i can play with them for tafe. When I boot the computer I get the standard boot menu to choose which OS i want to boot but Vista isn't there. But before I installed 2003 Server it was. Does anyone know how to get it back there. I have tried putting a new entry in the boot.ini file on the c: but that hasn't worked. I was thinking that it might have something to do with the order that I have installed the OS's eg. XP Vista then 2003 server.
Anyone have any ideas?
I would imagine that Vista would have to be installed last as it creates the windows boot manager which is quite different from the ones that win 2k / xp generates. in the worst case scenario you could use a 3rd party boot manager. google is your friend. one that i was gonna try when i screwed up my boot menu (but ended up fixing) when attempting to dual boot windows 2000 and XP is GAG (http://gag.sourceforge.net/) a free and open-source boot manager. give it a whirl if everything else fails.

Hey Hammo,
If you haven't got it working yet boot from the Vista DVD and select the repair Windows after you select the language. It's pretty simple to fix.
