Ok, what happens here?
I don't understand how windows handles this...

Moving files between harddrives (Fat32- I know, I know :( )
Bang!
Power Failure.

What happens to the file being moved?
I have 2 files on both drives, same file sizes.

Would I be correct in assuming that the one on the source drive would be the correct one?
I.e. Does windows complete the transfer before removing the source or not?
CHKDISK rebuilt one of the files, due to the amount of repaired space, but shitty MS don't log which files anymore.

Normally I'm not dumb enough to move files, choosing to copy and then delete once satisfied, but I got lazy, now look where it's got me...
And as for the Fat32, it's windows home. I'd prefer NTFS, as it can rebuild in these instances. but alas not an option. (But at least I'm fully legal)

I'm re-torrenting the file in question anyway, but at a 12 day projected time, I'd rather get there sooner.

EDIT: I deleted the destination file and kept the source one instead. Still don't know the answer thou...

I think you'll find it'll do a complete copy first then delete the file... Could be wrong. Tried Google?

I checked the source file thru,
it was complete, so i guess that it does complete the copy first :)

and subsequently, i didn't realise that the drive i was copying to was NTFS anyway, so it recreated the file via transactions, so they were both good.

It's interesting that the MS Home won't let me format to NTFS, but will use it if it's connected anyway.

I'm pretty sure windows has always done Move operations as a 'Copy, Paste then Delete original' type thing and if the pasted version is there then its ok, else it wouldn't show up.

edit: of course i'm a little drunk right now, so....yeah.
