G'day all,
I've got a mate who's got a couple of bits laying around that I might be able to use, but thought I'd ask here for opinions etc. before going ahead.
I've currently got an Athlon XP 1800+ system running on an MSI MS-6380 board. My mate has a 2100+ that he's no longer using (Purchased a laptop) that he's willing to sell to me.
The problem being that it was attached to a motherboard that blew up with a power spike, and he's not sure if the processor will work.
Do you think it'd be work with my motherboard, and if so, would it be worth throwing it on there to test if it works?
For the second question - Same mate also has a TR2-M2 Heat-sink and Fan that he can also part with, and was wondering if anyone here has used them before?
Did you find it made a difference? Good / Bad? Anything else?
