Raplanz.... Its finally back!!!!

Yes its that time again where that admins of rap have to get off there fat asses and have to organise another lan. We've realised that the date we are looking to have it is much closer than we had originally realised and that it had snuck up very quickly. So heres the run down anyway. Practically the same as b4. Its going to be roughly a 40 nerd/ppl lan. The comp will stay team based. The comp will be Cod UO Search and Destroy.

We're looking to hold it the middle weekend of the holidays ( 9-10 of april). Admission will be $15 each. The venue is the function room at St Pius Primary School on Morriss Road in Warrnambool (Same as recent lotd's). If in need of more info, contact me at azzaleddin@hotmail.com or pm me.

Don't know how you'll go booking St Pius for that date. We wanted it in April too and got told it was booked until June.

As for the booking of the hall. We had been in discussion with one of the ladies there (apparantly. Good old mum booking it for us even though we hadn't decided to get the lan goin). But anyway. We're looking at maybe having the comp as COD search and destroy again. But we're still finalising. So if theres any game you would preferr (other than UT2k4.... try to stay in the ww2 era), speak now. You may not have another chance to change it.

No, it has nothing to do with me liking ww2 games. At the start me and baddad decided to keep it as ww2. But if theres a better game out there that isn't ww2 and we think its worthy enuff to make an appearance as a comp. We'll put it in. We were wanting to have it as battlefield 2, but the game developers decided to be a*# Holes and hold it back till the middle of the yr just to screw with us. But anyway. I was wanting to have it as a bf 1942 comp. Baddads a little iffy bout it. Hes wanting it to be cod uo. We're still making up our minds, so don't think that its only going to be one of those two, suggestions r still welcome. But time grows short. So make em quick!!!

No point limiting games to a certain time period. Just limit them to quality :)

Well. It looks like it might be Cod S&D Comp from the past cpl of posts. But will discuss the worms novelty comp with the other power to be. See what he thinks.


This lan Im also hoping it will have better bandwidth and less lag. We're upgrading our two 24 port switches to two 24 ports switches. Yes, we're upgrading to the same thing....lol. Only difference is that the new 24 port switch's will have an extra 2 ports that will be 10/100/1000 instead of the same as the other 24 which will be 10/100. So Im hoping that if there were any issues of lag at the last lan. That this should fix it. Unfortunately. There won't be gigabyte uplinks for the general nerd public. but we're going to be hooking up any spare gig ports (should be two) to the servers, which (in theory) should also cause less lag.


To keep the beefster happy. Im editing this post to let you all know its official. It WILL be at st pius's hall (same place as lotd). And it looks as though it will be a COD UO Search and destroy Comp. So ppl that hated the last comp because of lack of explosions. We've beefed it up and added tanks and jeeps and stuff :wink:.


Again Im going to edit this post to let you know that when the registration part of morb is back up and operational. I'll add the even to the list so everyone thats interested can register. Untill then, All I ask is that you be patient. Also, the cost of entry will be $15. Also, cause of hassles with the person we're hiring the hall through. All computer cases must sit of the floor. NO IFS OR BUTS!!! We'll also be supplying cardboard to sit underneath your monitors. Thats about it for this update

hey GG a suggestion regarding protecting the tables - when i last used st pius (i had to hire my own tables!@) i was going to use a bunch of plain white table-cloth things u can hire them from the place where we have all hired the trestles (was it ready-hire?)

but yeah, that would save the need to put cardboard down and prolly help make it safe from pc cases too...

well my 2 cents on protecting the tables
same a skulls idea but pizza boxes from store brought pizzas (like mcains and the like) theyre fairly thin an provide some type of protection fer the tables. plus one box would do almost 6 pcs feet (round about)

or you could just say all boxes on ground, that worked for me

im scared to put my box on the ground again since it came so close to being coated in coke or somefin last time :o

Dates are still the same. Awaiting for skulls (or whomever) to get the registrations part of the site back up and going (cmon dude, your cutting it close). And we chose search and destroy because its takes team skill to work out how to attack/defend the appropriate target. Where team death is sorta a pointless kill everything that moves to bulk up the team score sorta thing.

About the the tables and the whole scratching them and stuff. We have heaps of cardboard at work. We fill the work van up every two weeks (when I say fill, I mean FILL!!!!!) So having enuff cardboard won't be a prob. If you have a legit enuff reason, we can supply some extra cardboard to sit your comp on. For instance.... in skulls case, he nearly had a bottle of coke spilt in his case. So he will be too paranoid now at every lan he goes to (when he has his comp on the ground) to play games properly. Plus being GOD and all, we have to treat him a little better than the average nerd :wink:. So if theres a legit enuff reason, we'll supply extra cardboard.

Also, back to the registration side of this, is there anyway we can be put in skullshot. I was sorta hoping you guys would have that part of the site back up by now. I guess problems happen though. But if you could get us in there that'd be awesome. Details again are....

Please remember that this lan "IS NOT" a clan only based lan. Its only the comp that is clan based. Also to remember that if theres enuff ppl we can put you into a temporary clan on the night if need be. If theres not enuff, we'll divvy you up and put you all in an existing clan on the night (to even out teams numbers if need be). Just one way we're trying to cater for all lanners :wink:. But don't feel that you have to be left out becuase your not in a clan. We'll find a spot for you so you can get in on the mass killing :twisted:.

we were wanting to do it 2 times a yr (roughly every 6 months) rarther than once a yr. But also not wanting to put other lans out of there way to much. So yeah, there will be more than 1 a yr!!!! Its good to here alot of feed back and enthusiasm for the coming lan. Also glad to see the seats filling up after such a short amount of time. But theres still alot of room left, and we're looking to getting the full 40. Just to let ppl know. That if we do fill up, we will put in an extra effort to fill extras. For instance, if we have 40 registered and confirmed and have 4 on the waiting list, we'll try our best to fit those extra four in. So if your not in the top 40, I'll get in contact with you a cpl of nights b4 the lan to let you know if we can squesse you in or not.

But also not wanting to put other lans out of there way to muchAnd stealing our venue doesn't count as putting us out :shock:
