Its good to be bad in bonds world...

Goldeneye: a bond game which lets you bat for the other side. Taking on the role of a british agent who uses violence and harsh tactics after the lose of his eye after a show down with bad guy Dr No your shoot them first , shoot them some more and then ask questions later approach has gotten you kicked out of MI6 then you get a offer which you can't refuse from Gold Finger!

The game has you working for gold finger fighting a war against your old pal Dr No , your job as a minion of evil takes you to such locations as the hoover damn , Fort Knox and a underwater black market all very nicely done by the games graphics.

golden eye runs alot better then other xbox shooters such as the MOH games but not quite as good as first person shooter king halo.

With an interesting storyline , some funky weapons and neat toys so you always have the right tool for dispatching a evil henchmen the story mode should keep you busy for a few hours if you stick to it. I think it was a worthy purchase on sale for $48 but i don't think i would lash out the $88's that they normally ask for it.

Worth a rental and possibly a buy if this sort of genre is your cup of tea and the right price.

I didn't mind this game. My only gripes would probably stem from my lack of enthusiasm toward it's genre. For me the game holds no replay value whatsoever and playing it seemed more like a chore despite the fact that i was glad i did when i finished it.

It's always nice to see someone commenting on a console game. If only there was substantial interest in GC titles :( .

the lack of backwards-compatible games etc with the change of every nintendo console just let XboX and ps2 walk all over them. Also no support for DVD/CD's etc. so there was never going to be much interest in the GC

There will always be interest in Nintendo from the people who grew up with the classics. The prospect of an OoT-like Zelda release had people purchasing the console for that reason alone.
It is unfortunately the most recent generations loss that they will never discover the beauty behind titles the GC has to offer. And yes it is due to the less then poor job Nintendo did promoting the console, allowing it to be pinned with a stereotpypical 'just for kids' type perception.
Of course their tough stance on making GC games harder to pirate did them more damage than making it easier would have, but that's life.
If anyone is an avid Nintendo fan dating back to classics like Metroid, Faxanadu, Digger-T and Wizards and Warriors, i would like to know as i currently source my PAL games form the UK and games like Skies of Arcadia/Phantasy star online are getting ridiculously pricey and hard to find.
It would be nice to come across someone who is aware that the GC has lots of games (more than the ten generic titles you see on store shelves anyway).

*puts hand up*

I bought a GC a couple years ago. Love it. It's a great little console. Of course, most people don't give it the time of day, but I love it. Wavebird controllers are great, game selection is actually reasonable (assuming you can source the games to begin with), and it's generally a lot of fun. I'm gonna get Donkey Konga shortly, which comes with some bongos for controllers. It's like DDR, but with drums :)

DDR is a work out. My next purchase should be paper mario, i've heard great things about the game and i'm sure it's an improvement on Sunshine. I'll wait until some unappreciative kid porns it of on eBay before i lash out on it though.
Say you don't have Skies of Arcadia by any chance?

I own both a xbox and a ps2 which i play most of the time because until recently i did'nt have a computer which could run the games you crazy kids play these days but now i have a computer im not really into many of the new pc games so i stick to ye old xbox and ps2.

As for lack of interest in gamecubes i was going to buy one due to the fact it was cheap and there was many cheap games floating around but in the end there was alot of solid titles on the xbox so i decided to go for one instead of the gamecube.

It pains me when people choose x-box over GC on the basis of game titles. Whilst a console is only as good as it's games if you have the money the GC is a worth while investment and many places like Game Traders in Geelong or eBay are perfectly good avenues for hunting down many decent titles.
Decent titles which consumers never see on shop shelves because the PAL industry + Nintendo is not a winning combination.
I like the X-box don't get me wrong, i just think it needs to step away from porting PC games and get more A grade original titles, titles not divulged from the latest action flick, and titles not already available on PS2.

Panzer Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden are very good examples of well executed original games and i can only hope the selection gets better.

True some more orignal titles on xbox would be good but people are lazy and if it works on ps2 its a safe bet that a decent amount of people will get it for xbox so developers just make it workable on the box and boom more money in their pockets and less in ours.

It's an ok console, but i'm not exactly sure if it's worth the money i paid for it a few years ago. Still, if you're not as picky as i am with titles it just might never accumulate any cobwebs.

Someone i know wants a game cube just for the latest resident evil game. I havent seen one chipped and i heard the discs used to be hard to get, but i think thats more due to lack of pirate interest.
The only game that gets play on the ps2 now is GTA san andreas and that game chews up machines like crazy.

I know nothing in this post is actually on topic, but whatever i'm just fitting in.

Not quite right. The little CDs are a proprietary thing from Nintendo, which is why they don't really exist in blank form. Some people have figured out a way to use a network adapter to play backups, but I'm not entirely sure how that works. What they did overseas was release the 'Starcube', which is a modified GC with a standard sized drive.... Gets around the need for the small disks, as far as I know.
