cd speed

hey i was just wonderin how ya work out how much data your cd drive can copy from a cd to ya hdd
like just a normal cd drive not a burner
i have a 44x cd drive and was wondering how much data a second it can transfer
can anyone help?

well, 1x is approximately 150kb / second... you can do the math.. but that's only a theoretical speed. Plus the fact that drives only reach that speed when transfering from the outside area of the CD.....

so that means my drive ruffly can transfer 6600 kb/s to my hdd
its just weird coz it takes like 10 minutes to copy a movie from a cd
