ok, me and my uncle are starting a business for gamers, there are places out here i.e. net warriors, and combatzone. i would like to know what some of the clients are that i can use for timed sessions that will automatically cut off when time is out, and i could use some assistance in what i need to have the LAN on a server and the networking, basically all of it, i have the computers covered

Just setup a client / server network with limited login sessions, so when a person logs in they get x time, then the computer logs off. AFAIK, Windows Server should be able to handle something like that.

i'm guessing were are talking about a net-cafe situation here...

using 3rd party programs to do such an operation is not advised, as with poor setting up, they are really easy to get around.

as beefy said, windows server can do the job just fine.

would need some obviously strct / tight security settings on the client PCs to make sure that would be enforced

i was wandering more about product names, and maybe a list of things that i need for the lan-cafe

here is an example of a place that i am talking about

As I said, Windows Server CAN DO THE JOB just fine. Set up a Windows 2003 Server, set up Active Directory, get some accounts set up for users to use, give them a XX min login time, after which the password expires so they can't get on anymore.. If you want to use specific products, there's always ways around that, as skullshot said. Someone could simply shutdown the service / process that does the time keeping and they'll have unlimited play.

However, if you don't like our suggestions, have you considered contacting the people you linked to and asked what solution they used?
