yeah u know troubleshootin step 1 is to reproduce the problem.

ive got a samsung cdr/rw running a windows xp os every now and again it reads cds but then other times it just doesnt detect them at all... any ideas

that could go in a fresh thread...

erm, i would think your drive needs the lasers cleaned, if its safe, get a laser cleaning kit, and put it thru it, see if that improves it any.

it's pretty much a brand new drive tho...

oh i see the problem now...its samsung, they r shit drives
