Hey all,

Just dropping a line to let you all know that we have confirmed at date for the next MorB. MorB 21 will be held over the first weekend of the Mid Year School Holidays (July 9th & 10th).

We have some great surprises in store for all that attend but I can't let you know what they are just yet, not until we we confirm all the details.

Registrations will open about a month before the event so don't start emailing me just yet trying to book your spot.

As always there will be some great prizes and giveaways provided by our awesome sponsors, but again I will let you know more about them as we get closer to the event.

But for now, let us know what you would like to see at MorB 21 and start practicing.

Benching competition FTW! Lol. The one at vLan kept a few of us very entertained for a long time throughout the night.

As in 3DMarks benchmarking? Hmmm that could be interesting! Might be able to work that in. I'll put it on the list of potentials comps for the next admin meeting

oh nice, good weekend for it for us :D

vlan did 3dmark 2006, probably a good choice, that one comes down more to cpu grunt and OS efficiency over GPU(s) these days.
can run on older graphics cards coz its directx 9.

it kept me and dingo busy most of the day before the gaming comps got going, along with several others.
if we have internets, it lets you do score submissions that way on the free version

Kept you busy the whole day thanks to dirt2 being a dick! Haha.

Indeed it was awesome fun. Just gotta not kill your bench rig before the LAN :p. I've still got my doubts about my GPU however...

I've always wanted to learn how to push a bit more outa my system. I bought a computer for it, just haven't ever done it.

Got some good sites for some how-to's? I know my CPU was favoured at one point for its OC excellentness :)

Yeah i did the same. But I've never did it cos after saving up all the money to buy it I didn't want to push it to far and have it crap out on me and have to spend even more money on fixing it up. I was too scared.

Now I'm just an apple fan boy and don't worry about overclocking plus I'm lazy!!!

welcome to my world, lol.
3 mobos, 1 psu, 1 gpu and a cpu, just the past 12 months. its been a good year for it.. granted, have reached most of my overclocking goals so i dont consider it a bad thing overall.
also lost a HDD or two but that wasnt related to overclocking in any way.

its just part of the fun..
if you arent pushing limits though, you wont kill anything. there are such things as a "safe" overclock - no less stable than stock, if setup right.
good aircooler + decent flow case, a small, sensible voltage bump, can help reach a decent speed increase and hold off upgrades that little bit longer. its where most people start off.
its learning to stop getting that last Mhz out of your setup thats the hard part..

Cheers, Burnouts.

Is it safe to OC 2 year old hardware? I think I've got a decent life outa my system now.

Also! any1 here do airbrushing and know a bit about what type of paints I need to use. I want to airbrush my old clear case with UV paint. But not sure exactly how i should do it as I havent used an airbrush in years!

Would love to have it all done before morb. I have some awesome designs I want to try out.

+1 OCAU.. great forums, friendly guys.
trade forums are awesome, always find the exact hardware i want cheap, can sell gear quick there too.

a small overclock wont really reduce life of system at all, if the temperatures are okay. really though your talking about knocking months off the potential life of a system (at most, especially with a small boost) most people upgrade every couple of years.. so meh..

havnt run a system at stock speed since.. prior to p1 days. increasing FSB using DIP switches/jumpers ftw..

We will be finalising more details in the coming fortnight. After that registrations will open. There will be plenty of time before the event for everyone to register and confirm.
