ne of you guys know why my modem would keep on uninstalling itself sometimes when i shut my pc down, its not much or of a problem it just gets really annoying when u go to dial up to the net and there is no modem present

12-12-2003, 12:18 PM
Internal or external?

if its external make sure its turned on before you start your machine up.

12-12-2003, 02:07 PM
yea. its not that it uninstalls itself, just winXP dosen't thinks tis there.

i had that problem ALLL those years ago when i used a 56k modem ;P

:( I still do :P damn adsl slurts!~

12-12-2003, 04:27 PM
well i see u can get online so get the updates for it off the website.. what sort of modem is it... and same q tommyboy asked.. also is it usb?
you may want to check the device manager if its usb.. it might have an error in there say there is an unrecognised USB device. happend to me when i had my ADSL external modem installed.

12-12-2003, 05:25 PM
naa. tommyboy hit the problem on the head. turn it on before u boot up.

ur asking for trouble if u get usb.

this is a warning to anyone who wants to jump on the DSL bandwagon or anyone who is on DSL and are looking to churn away because they are unhappy with their current provider - STAY AWAY FROM INTERNODE =)

netspace all the way baby

13-12-2003, 09:55 PM

... unrecognised USB device. happend to me when i had my ADSL external modem installed....

14-12-2003, 06:25 AM
lmfao, once again WK makes a fool of himself =)
and Delta, yeah Netspace would rock, if only myself and The_Master weren't born l33ch3rs. 14 GB a month doesn't cut it. though i do like the free p2p with other netspace users and free VIX / AUSIX traffic.

14-12-2003, 05:01 PM
its 20 gig a month now. and u set urself up right. u can get into a nice little group of free p2p. pipe and dc am the best

14-12-2003, 10:54 PM
20 gig is way too much charged traffic as is - p[lusa is choked to like 56 or somefian if u go over

if ubgo over 20 gig u need a klife!

02-01-2004, 12:31 AM
how much a month with them delta? $$ wise i mean

02-01-2004, 12:53 AM
$99.95 i think it is

02-01-2004, 01:50 AM
Yep, 99.95 a month for 20GB cap (10 peak 10 off peak), plus free traffic to VIX / PIPE / many other networks. Plus, when you know some of the guys that work for Netspace, they give some nice addresses for file servers for leeching (for free) ;)

02-01-2004, 02:26 AM
BURHA TO THAT! PIPE all the way baby!

02-01-2004, 10:22 AM
so if ya got a couple o' friends in on it and had a couple of users on the same name or whatever, can it work that way, they'd all need an ADSL modem too.

02-01-2004, 01:18 PM
to be able to use it, you've gotta get your phone line changed over so it will work with your ISP, which means you need to have an account (which also determines the line speed). So, you can't just go and get an ADSL modem and hope it works. You can share accounts / login multiple places at once, which is good if you pass your cap and a friend on the same ISP hasn't touched his, or something like that...

02-01-2004, 03:05 PM
UNTILL SOMEONE WHO USES YOUR LOGIN GOES OVER YOUR CAP FOR YOU?!

i wonder who would do that...

/me looks @ skullshot

meh. i got a HDD out of it ;P

02-01-2004, 04:10 PM
:D i was wondering if they had a way of paying to get the codes on the 2 lines for one account... if they could do that then u could go halves in one account as long as u dont blow the cap ay delta :D

/me apologises again!

02-01-2004, 05:30 PM
seaf i care. something to laff about l8r on.

03-01-2004, 11:54 PM
iiNet :)

20gb, 12 on peak 8 off,

$79.95 p/m,

free pipe etc

and if u go over it only shapes ur connection to 72kbps, then again to 33 if you go over by half the quota again (which u shouldnt do if already capped lol)
