Yes, he did. We talked about it. It's also the last weekend of school holidays (AFAIK). So kiddies will get the monday to recover / get some sleep, then start school.

I would play a quake 3 comp, if i could somehow get through the 800 kms and 5 angry dwarves that usually stop me going to the morb lans. I'd play in every comp i could run actually.

My suggestions? I'm not too fussed. I wouldn't mind seeing some DC and CoD, among others.. but I was just saying that there was hardly any UT at M5 (a couple of us played it for a while, but that was something to fill in gaps), and the Q3 comp seems to get smaller and smaller every year. Surely there's something else around that people are actually currently interested in. I could be wrong, I was just saying... There's no point having a comp like that for the sake of having another comp. Only have comps that are in huge demand (DoD, CoD, maybe an RTS if someone wants to try organise / waste a lot of time playing)....

My votes: DoD, CoD, Q3, Soldat.

originally i had planned for the week b4 but lanx buzzed that date first and since i am going to that one i cant really run morb on same date - the weekend b4 that is out for other reasons, and any later than this date and we wouldnt b in school hols so, no we cant chang ethe date - plus its booked and paid :P

I reckon it might be worth getting a comp of ut going if there aren't many comps already organized, you'll get the numbers for the comp... if there is already plenty of comps, just discard what I've just put in.

really GG you can't place too much on if they have orgasnised comps or not, when you get there its very different from what you expected in the comsp area. at M5, there was a dod and q3 comp, only the q3 was on because of many different reasons. No offense to the guys behind the scenes or anything, you do a great job and i know the errors are from something stuffing up or lack of interest, lets hope the dod comp will happen this time tho, i'm itchin'.

on another note, could we have team matches this time, like a clan comp, people submit their teams and then the clans/teams have a elimination comp. I think with more and more clans rising up and not really being able to work much as a team on the net for an example as is our prob this sort of comp would be good fun for those invloved. How do you like that suggestion?

After some discussion friday night where thinking of running a UT comp instead of Q3. UT is still old school but something differant than Q3 which is always run.

I'm a fan of having an Instagib comp, but if running a UT DM comp is more popular I'll bow to what ever is more popular.

as un common as that would be. i still see where ur comming from. but u'll notice that if ur happy to play one type of FPS game, even if u dont enjoy the game, u'll still perform highly.

u (beefy) might not like, (sorry, _hate_) HL based games, but becuase u play BF, i'd be willing to bet ud be pretty good at, DoD, for example.

it all comes down to natural instinct merged with the style of game. if u have the ability to aim and act fast; uve got the FPS down pact if ur willing to input the time and effort to play it.

somone should look out for a need for speed underground lan patch some comps of that would be nice

And yeah, i think once you know one game, you should pick up one of a similar stlye quickly enough. For example, from dod to cod, the only real prob i had was the crouching, i couldn't understand it at first but now i get it fine!! and sks is right, if you know q3 really well, adapted near perfect skills and all, the only real problem you'd have from changing to UT would be your weapons and how different weapons work.

Ummmmmm Morb 6 is gonna be great.

I'm just asking for exsprssions of interest in having a server for clan matches. Do u think that any clans would be interested in playing a match or 2 at MorB (ie challanging another clan b4 morb an playing the match during the LAN) If there is interest I will see what MorB can provide in the way of a server and refs for such matches.

what sorta specs you lookin' for in a server? I have a p3 500mhz i might be able to give ya for it if you want it!

btw, The Ascension are up for a clan match if someone wants a match.

an idea for a server we had was something along the lines of 1ghz cpu and 256mb of ram per 12 players or somefin like that for a dod server

roughly by that sort of calculation u can see an idea of what machines morb would need for servers the more grunt we have teh better tho ay :D

Well, as long as no one is hiring my spare PC again, there's a 1800+ server with 1GB RAM (minus 128MB for onboard GF4MX)

I've got a 1ghz Athlon 256MB Ram for a server. Not really that great for higher end games though :/

At LANOTD V we were running the CoD server on like an 1100 or something and it ran sweet.

I have a 2gig celeron 512 ddr mem so on so forth.... might not be ready by morb though.... if it is I'll let yous know.
