Umm, that's not very helpful. We need sys specs, operating system specs, driver info...

Your not trying to overcolck you cpu.... did that on mine and it used to jump out of games often because it wasn't very stable..... if you are doing that, check that its running stable. other than that... we need system specs dude. Could be a number of things

sounds like oc probs - also maybe some bios settings are pushing the system too hard.
or like my video card is a little worn and is only stable now that i have underclocked it - a loqwer framerate yreah but now i can play ut2003 engine games at higher quality yay

just a couple of suggestions until we get more info!

OS? When was the last time you installed Windows? Have you had any major hardware changes since? Has it all worked properly before? Did you change something to make it start acting this way? Do you think sks is a tubby biatch?

Windows xp with sercurity pack and sp1 and all that no hardware changes it has done this before i have updateted the bios and it all seemed to start round that time but i doubt thats it and he is a tad husky but nothin the ladies dont mind pokin at im sure

Whats witht he whole 160.. but only detects 130. Is it broken into partitions??? every partition you make, eats up more room of your hard drive... if its one big partition, could be having hdd problems... have known it to cause system crashes. Don't know if this is the problem though. Other than this. If all the parts are working fine... I don't see why your system is crashing in games... seems like a fairly decent system. Os may need reinstalling, I doubt bios would be causing it (don't rule it out though). Still to many possibilities. Narrowed it down a bit though... let us know if that hdd is partitioned.

thats called the 127 gb barrier, certain chipsets/bioses cant recognise the 48 (?) bit addresssing required to physically see the whole hard-disk - partitioning will not enable the full use of the disk as the chipset and/or bios are limited to 32 bit addressing which maxxes out at 127gb

i have 2x 200gb drives and on my old mobo the main ide supported 48bit addressing but the raid controller did not

nuke - definitely try underclocking the vc - also if problems started after a bios update - theres a chance that some of the new defaults loaded by the new bios are working some of your components a little harder - namely things like ram timings and more aggressive video card timings. sounds definitely due to heat which is either coz of lack of cooling, or somefin is werkin too hard. i doubt its anything to do with the hdd if its clipped its clipped - not a lot you can do - but i'd check if theres a later revision bios u can install to enable the full 160gb, i mean i got an update for my 3 year old epox mobo - so u should b able to, just note if u try to use the extra space that u will prolly have to recreate the partition(s) on the disk afresh to realise the full 160

well the biso actually detects it as a wd 160gb so i dunno bout that maybe its just some windows thing ill try under clockin the vc too thanks sks

theres a patch for winxp to understand 48 bit addressing too, mite wanna run windowsupdate and check if u have it - its one of the recommended updates - not a critical one i think

...got a link?

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=303013

that just details enabling 48bit stuff but apparantly support is there for it if SP1 worked properly - worth a read of that link

^ that explains the whole battle with large drives

mmm fresh install of windows always helps :)
if u really get pissed off with the prob anyway lol
