Dedicated Servers

This is a serious poll, no assing around

One of the hardest things about hosting a LAN is choosing what games to run dedicated servers for in order to keep our LANers happy. Therefore I've created this thread as a reference for LAN admins so we don't have to try reading LANers minds. You can choose multiple games in the above poll to indicate which games you'd like to see hosted. If i've missed anything feel free to suggest it.

That is not the intention of this thread. I will delete you!!! If anybody wants to argue start a thread in the games section.

From what I've seen of the general feel of you guys.... I'd run the following:

RtCW:ET
DoD
BF1942 (DC)
MoHAA:spearhead

Now I only really play one of those myself, but it seems to cover the majority of needs. There's always gonna be smaller groups wanting to play other things, like Op Flash, HL-games, VC, etc... but they aren't going to be guaranteed to be played, nor by large numbers.

There's also a couple games on the list that people haven't really got a feel for yet, like Halo, U2 MP, JA, etc... So once people develop a decent opinion of those you'll be able to figure out the demand.

Very true, and things will change with the introduction of new games such as the new Medal Of Honor and Call Of Duty

There was a demo for Call of Duty at the LAN. Only one level but looks very sweet. /me drools...

Does the demo support multiplayer? Does it have a dedicated server???

No, the demo has no multiplayer and obviously no dedicated server.

What? I was only asking to see if we could run it at the next LAN...

Only 12 people have voted...I could have sworn we had more than 12 members...

just because we have more than 12 members does not necessarily mean that more than 12 will vote.... especially those who would normally mess around with what they enter.

I know I voted myself..... and truthly may i add (not that I want to make that a habbit of mine, that Chritina Aguilera monster has ways of using it against you).

So any new servers people would like to see ran? Obviously Call Of Duty is a big favourite.
