reminds me of almost every other vb based forum, which isnt a good or bad thing to me. just.. meh.
some of the new features are good.
dunno what the old forum was like to admin/moderate but vb forums are pretty simple.
put simply, i dont think ill miss the old one when this ones going 100%.

We haven't finished the skinning process, nor have we fully implemented everything. Hence the reason we're not quite going 100% on this one.

so will this be the forum (but with a URL change), or is this like, beta (lol), and you will make a whole new board based on the settings and any other additions you want?
basically, what im asking is will we have to sign up again really - not that its a big deal, im just curious

No one has posted a new thread in either forum for a while. Mostly replying to old stuff on the old one.

Get with the times, people! :p
Maybe you should move some of the still active threads over to here.
edit: I've just noticed how big all that stuff on the left makes each post, even when it's only a one line effort. I think the xfire link should go for starters. people who have xfire can see who's online by using xfire. if your reading the forums, you aren't looking to play a game at the same time.

Yeah, I tend to agree. As I mentioned elsewhere, I might ditch the big Xfire box and put in a little icon like the IM programs.
Also tossing up whether to ditch Location and/or post count... Location I personally find handy to see where people are at a glance, but post counts are always useless. It just looked a little bare when I took it out earlier.
It's either that or we have the new layout with poster information above the post instead of beside it. But I find that just breaks things up too much and makes the page longer still.

i tend to miss the post counts when they arnt there. i really dont know why but i like to look at them (?!).
ditching xfire would go a long way to cleaning it up. and as said if someone really wants to pimp their gaming leetness, they can put it in their sig..
or having it as an icon would be a more compact option i guess.
i like those icons there, beats making up threads with steamids, psn/xbl/wiicode, IM, friendface or general gamer tags.
location is handy in the for sale forums - when people fill it out with their actual location, that is, not "in hell/behind you/carboard box/192.168.0.lame" or something.
having the info above the posts would be even worse i think - especially on widescreen monitors, and even more on the 16:9 widescreens, less vertical space, more scrolling, more fail..
ive moved my vista taskbar over there <--- to lessen webpage scrolling, so its not something id like undone in one of my more frequented forums lol

I tend to keep an eye on posts, especially on forums i don't frequent. That and join date. Tends to give me insight as to if the person is a active contributor or some noob that didn't use search. As well as if they are just some e-thug.

...can we all move in here, yet? the spambots are getting to me
surely the spam/dick pills/pr0n/child pr0n is worse than "white borders around buttons" etc..
edit: while im at it, before we officially go live, can an admin here change my profile name here to just 'taity'...?!

Might also be that admins can use HTML, whereas others can't.

That would prolly do it too!!! I'll talk to Jarrod about it and see if he wants to enable it for user access.

Are you able to change the email settings, so when a thread gets a reply that it gets sent in html not plain text.
Getting them like this is pretty weird.
Dear Burnouts,
KaMaKaZi_KiNg has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - The New Forum - in the The Lounge forum of MorB LANs.
This thread is located at:

I suspect it's an admin thing. I was trying to include my XFire thingy. I think the code I used was:

We are aware of this problem and Jarrod will look into it further. Thanks for letting us know.
sorry clawcity,
my code that i used is []url=http://profile.xfire.com/axol][]img]http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/axol.png[/img]

Seems to be an issue with the Youtube thread (perhaps any thread with embedded video?)...
Instead of having the right side menu outside of the main table (under the header bar), it's been squeezed in. The whole page looks cramped.
I'm guessing it's a skin restriction, but can we get full width display instead of a fixed width on the forums?

Also, is there a chance a button to check for new posts to be added somewhere in the top menu or side?

new posts on the side already?
just retested quick reply, still getting;
"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 6 characters."
doesnt matter how much i write in there it still gets that message
caching issue? maybe delete some cookies and try again?
