LAN OF THE DAMNED IV

Yes it is time once again fo another fun filled installment of the LANotd saga.

and we would apreciate any imput that you have to offer on the date's that you think that it would be best held on.

unfortunatly we cant make it to suit every ones wishes but we will endevour to accomidate as many of you as we can.

I chose 6th and 7th, 13th and 14th is a possibility for me aswell any later and im possibly in sydney.

well u guys could always not go on holidays just so that you could come to LANotd :P ,

I have many good reasons to suport this argument,

1. it is LANotd
2. it is by far cheeper to go to a lan in warrnambool than it is to go on holidays.
3. LAN's are fun :D
4. Did I mention that it is LANotd?? :P

anyway back on topic, myself and Clawcity are looking at a new venue that is a bit larger and has fans on the roof :P
of course this will only come to be if we can get in touch with the figures of authority at said venue. I cant tell where this place is at this stage it is a surprise :wink:

and any of those dates are fine qld isnt until the 22nd so it just depends on what times etc that i work as to wether i can attend at all/for part, or for the whole thing

The last person I know who went for a holiday in QLD suffered rain the whole time they were there while Warrnambool was uncharacteristically sunny, LMAO

well we have all but secured the venue and i spose now would be as good as any other time to reveal the venue, it is the special development hall which lies between Seal and the special development school on Hyland St. YAY
the date that we have decided on will be the 13th and 14th of september.

there will also be a Medal of Honor Spearhead competition,
providing that we an get the logging syetem up and running correctly.

different format form the last competiton that we had, this time there will be multiple preliminary rounds if nessasary to decide the final players, the server will also have no ROCKETS (AKA Noob launchers) and there also will be no Grenade launching rifle thingy (AKA twat cannon) :wink:

there will be a trophy for the winner, and the winner also get's automatic entry in to the next LOTD MOHAA:SH comp. :P

As the reigning champion The_Master has automatic entry to the final

This way there's still 20 people available to play other games while each round is going on, and the comp isn't drawn out over the whole LAN. Both rounds will use the same map list with a different list used for the final. We will be taking names for the comp early in the LAN so we can be better organised this time :P

Hmm.. all will be good as long as where ever you hold it is warmer than the Anderson Theatre! I thought I was gonna have to run out side, find a polar bear, kill it and make a coat outta the f#cker!

The hall we're using is much smaller and thus easier to heat. It also has 2 heaters present. Guess you'll have to make sure you park your butt right next to one :D

I would've liked to have seen the battle between you and the polar bear though......

the anderson theatre can be a warm venue, however people kept leaving the door next to me open!! ffs theres a sign that says plz close it!! fkn i know i was cold but thought it was only me coz i was at the door...some1 shoulda yelled to like, crank the heating..

Are u sure about power cause myself was going to hire that hall for a LAN cause of its cheepness but i wasn't 100% on power :-/

the power needs should be ample we had a look and there was somthinig like 6 circuts, hopfully this will prove to be enough

Here's another patented badly drawn venue map brought to you by clawcity and his incredible artistic talents. This map is set at the West end of Lava Street and the section of Kerr Street/Aitkins Road with the bend that promises to dump you in someone's front yard if you take it at 80kph.

well it is finished we now have a fancy shmancy stats program to keep record of the comp, have just tested it works great.

if any one has any relevant imput on what they would like in the comp now would be a good time to tell me.
things like realisim being on or off any other wepons that they would like to see out of the game other than the rocket launcher and the grenade launcher rifle.

if enough people wish for a specific weapon to be removed then my self an claw will discuss the matter further and let you all know.

Thanks to The Master's efforts with the stats logging program the results of each round of the MOHAA:Spearhead competition and the final will be available on the LAN Of The Damned server via a web browser.
Simply enter http://lanotd/ as the url and (enter uncle here)'s your uncle :twisted:
This will not only show each players frags but also a range of other stats including deaths, kills with each weapon and suicides. It will also award a range of titles/awards for those with the most kills with each respective weapon. Thanks to the wonders of php this should all be available only minutes after the round/final ends.

AEstats is what they're using for their stats sKs, 'member that, origidig MorB (as a clan) stats and the stats for MorBius Lanicus Maximus were done in that eh :)

I don't remember that happening at one of my LANs Hamz, IP would be one of the first things i'd check. Though I do remember forgetting to turn off ICS :oops:

The ICS incidence was before I even had a chance to browse the network. I was too busy running around organisng servers and stuff.

an all too easy mistake to make, still it was amusing while it lasted :lol:

How much room is at the joint? Cos you could have a spot where people can bring in other computer parts to sell? like a for sale section. Not sure if it would be good to charge people to bring some extra stuff or not.

That sounds like a good suggestion Winter but I think any sales should be worked out in the classifieds thread so people at the LAN spend less time haggling over price and more time gaming.

Also, while you're gaming, who's going to look after all the items that are for sale?

We've compiled a Medal Of Honor: Spearhead map pack for LANOTD IV to make sure everyone has all the required maps. If you wish to join any of the Medal games we host you should install these maps first. Anyone who wants to play in the comp with definately need to install the maps. The map pack will be available on the LANOTD server via DC++ as well as a player skin pack and the Best Of Every Sound mod

I was just woundering if the 5 people who are waiting (including me) will get to go to LOTD or if we miss out, just so that i know whether to turn up or not...

we have ordered extra tresles (spelling?) and those on the waiting list are most welcome to make an apperance. :P
