LAN Of The Damned XXII

LAN Of The Damned XXII will be held on April 17th & 18th 2010 at the Warrnambool College Hall (http://lanotd.viclan.org.au/images/WarrnamboolCollegeMap.jpg). Registrations (http://lanotd.viclan.org.au/index.php?page=events) are now open in our brand new events section created by our very own Dark Trunks. We'll be allowing XBoxes at this LAN, just register via the regular method & get your mates to sign up too so you don't spend the LAN playing with yourself ;) Entry is $15 for regular seats and $20 for gig seats.
The tournaments for this LAN will be Unreal Tournament 2004 Bombing Run (5 per team) and Call Of Duty 4 FFA.

Thermaltake (http://www.thermaltake.com.au) has once more agreed to sponsor the event by providing us with some cooling solutions to give away :)

Gigasoft IT Solutions are again sponsoring the LAN. They are providing a copy of Kaspersky Antivirus to give away.

South West TAFE (http://www.swtafe.vic.edu.au) will be sponsoring the event. Their contributuion is to promote their Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering (http://www.swtafe.vic.edu.au/coursefinder/displaybrochure.aspx?id=107) which, for those unfamiliar with it, is a course we'd recommend for anyone considering a career in IT. The course includes several industry recognised certificates such as Microsoft certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and CompTIA's A+ Certification. It also includes some Java programming and Linux.

We've got pretty low numbers so far for the LAN, probably due to MorB being pwned by bots and peeps not realising the site is back up. We've never had to cancel a LAN in the past, and we'd prefer not to start now. So get out there and spread the word people. Pimp our LAN!

I think it will be a while for the community to come up to speed with the site change. Also there's 3 lans in a row i believe these hols and its the easter hols, all could be contributing factors to low numbers :)
