MorB - incorporated

when MorB becomes an incorporated association, i think it will need to be called something more corporate-friendly like "South-West Gaming Group"

or Victorian Gamers Association

or Warrnambool Temporary Network Group...

MorB would be the official LAN of the association, and affiliated lans would retain their names also, but the association would be the body behind all this, owning equipment and co-ordinating events etc.

suggestions for a cool acronym/name for the association below please..

i think south west would work better becuase it's our location. where as victoria is... welll.. yeah. SW would be better.

The only problem with South-West is it doesn't say South-West where? South-West Victoria? South-West Queensland? South-West Africa?

And professionals get paid, which we certainly won't be.

yeah SWAG (south-west association of gamers/gaming) was an idea...

i dont think u need to relate South-West to victoria in a name as it is generally assumed as with all the other south-west named things around here, but then again,,

as clawcity said about it in the other thread, the MorB being a recognised name already is true, and will remain as such, this name would effectively be the name for the group and structure that lay behind more than just MorB

hence LOTD would be its own lan, backed by this organisation, it would be at the same level as MorB if it were a heirarchial structure (u'd just draw a bigger circle on the chart for MorB :D )

VGA is a fairly large-scoped name and may even be what we encompass, i think rather than a focus on gaming, it could be for laning... like

I also think anywhere that warrnambool/victoria or south-west is used, could be interchangeable

Personaly, I think WTNG has a nice ring to it, however the "Temporary" in the name doesnt seem quite right. I know that technically its true, but how about something else that starts with "T". Sorry my mind is drawing a blank right now...

I think it would be a good idea if we could use something where the acronym is an actual word. It makes the name easier to remember and rolls of the tongue better. This was one of the good things about the MorB name. With this in mind things like SWAG and SWING are good, though they down sound particularly groovy or anything...

if you are not carefull about the name of the "gaming group" people are gunna thing that we are a bunch of gamblers that have a fixation for the pokies. though this sound funny it is not really the message that is trying to get accross..

but. but. i like da pokies. SWING sounds kewl.

MAN! I wish we had talked about this earlier! A couple of months ago I registered LAN X as LAN X EVENTS INC. I wish I knew you plans, but was really involved in my own plans, as it's also for my major university project. I have a meeting tomorrow with the ATO to fill out the paper work obtain a DGR status (tax deductability). As you know one of my driving forces is the support of charitys such as the GFA. I already have excellent sponsors such as NetComm, B&D Technologies, Ballarat University, Ballarat Council, the Mayor of Ballarat even chipped in for LAN-X-FOR The Children, thank to George Fong from Hunter Page Developments (another big supporter). I even have an official LAN X ISP, MonkeyDSL. Im also applying for government/private grants to futher regional lannage. I'll see ya at LANX5 anyways ;) Then the week after at MonsterLAN, then the week after at MorB! :D

stuff it, team up with the lan-x and lay claim to lans in all of victoria minus the melbourne area. Then stick a tax on any lans held, and bomb lans without clearance from the alliance. the money raised could be used to buy out shafted lans and then possibly control THE WORLD. or just stick with morb, and dont tell the suits what it stands for.
