View Full Version : Google Chrome - Your thoughts?

http://www.google.com/chrome/

just got this today, seems quite nice, using it right now.

things i like:
-easy tab creation
-tabs are in the title bar ( i know some people will hate -this for sure)
-VERY quick off the mark
-ease of imported settings from FF (all my bookmarks and toolbar remained intact
-recently used pages (similar to operas "speeddial" (still -getting used to it tho
-very clean UI, very spacious feeling, minimalist
-startup, is able to load a user defined set of homepages, perfect for reading news and such (defeats RSS feeds to a certain extent)

things i hate:
-lack of changing colour of theme
-click-scrolling is absent (clicking the mouse wheel and scrolling)
-maybe a bit TOO simple for people like me who like to have a bit more control.
-lack of a searchbar like in firefox where you could load search providers of your choice (mininova, demonoid, youtube, wiki are just some examples)
-strange search function to replace the absent above listed feature (pressing tab after typing in the whole address? way too much effort...)
-horrible habit of acting like "insert" is turned on and making it seem like your words are disapereaing, but reappeara when you have selected another part of the text body :/
-dictionary function does not provide suggestions to fix spelling errors

bare in mind tho its the first BETA, and its already achieved this:

im pretty settled on it now, default browser for me, after they fix up those few flaws.

whats everyone elses thoughts?

Default browser at work and home.

It's not perfect, but for a beta it's in pretty good shape.

love the little clause in the T&C's they had to take out....

"any data you input using the browser; we can reproduce."

It's their default EULA, apparently...

And Facebook has one, "any photos you upload, are now ours"
So what happens if I use Google to upload to FB?

Does a subspace hole rip open?

Hi freinds,
I have not used the Google Chrome yet.
After seeing the comment of ?G0DZLR? planning to install it.
I am using the FireFox and lot's of Add-ons are installed in it lets see how the Chrome will satisfy all such things done by the FireFox Add-ons.
I don't use the Internet Explorer so no idea about it.
As ?Burnouts? says that the javascript runs faster is the nice feature.
I will post my review after few days about the Chrome.
Thanks.
